        Japan is an extraordinary contributor to life sciences research globally, preceeded only by the United States and China, and second only to the United States in branded medicines. Japan’s deeply scientific innovation agenda is focused on some of the most consequential frontiers in global health, from oncology and regenerative medicine to AI-enabled drug discovery, digital health, and advanced therapeutic platforms. With a culture celebrating precision, and the relentless pursuit of progress, its mature industrial fabric and scale backed by a national strategy to build a ¥100 trillion bioeconomy by 2030, Japan is the country to watch for biopharmaceutical innovation.

        Prix Galien Japan Awards Committee

        A prestigious committee comprising some of the finest distinguished researchers in their fields will be chaired by Professor Takashi Kadowaki, President of the Japanese Association of Medical Sciences. The committee will judge submissions to the inaugural prize in the categories: Best Pharmaceutical Product, Best Biotechnology Product, Best Orphan and Rare Disease Product, Best Medical Technology, Best Digital Health Solution, and Best Startup.
