For the first time, Prix Galien — the world’s preeminent prize honoring groundbreaking advances in the life sciences — will take place in Seoul alongside the World Knowledge Forum.
Held in conjunction with the World Knowledge Forum, the inaugural Galien Forum Korea will convene leading voices from research, industry, regulatory bodies, and government. Building on this powerful exchange, the first edition of the Prix Galien Korea Awards will honor Korea’s most exciting contributions to global health.

Submission Process
We are very excited to announce the first edition of the Prix Galien Korea, honoring the biggest innovations in the life sciences. The Prix Galien is an honor of the highest order for the teams who bring forth life-changing drugs, biologics, technologies, methodologies, and digital solutions. Worldwide, it unites the greatest initiatives in incubation and acceleration and recognizes the industrial fabric from the start-up through to the blockbuster lab.
A prestigious committee comprising eight of the finest distinguished researchers in their fields will be chaired by Professor Park Yeong Min, MD. The committee will judge submissions to the inaugural prize in the categories Best Biotechnology Product, Best Digital Health Solution, Best Medical Technology, Best Pharmaceutical Product, and Best Startup.
The premier prize for the research, development, and distribution of innovations improving the human condition will follow the inaugural Galien Korea Forum, which will take place as part of the World Knowledge Forum on September 10, 2026. Special guest Dr. Marty Makary, immediate past commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), will address the Forum.

The winners archive traces the history of innovations benefitting human health since the prize’s inception in France in 1970. It is with pride that the Galien Foundation chronicles and honors the winning teams and encourages individuals having working on breakthrough products, devices and solution to become Foundation members and thus perpetuate the importance of their innovation to the advancement of human health.
The Prize is awarded in 15 countries worldwide. Winners are candidates for the bi-yearly International prize contending with all prize-winning innovations worldwide.
Prix Galien Korea Awards Committee
The Prix Galien USA Awards committees include up to 13 esteemed leaders in the life sciences from the United States with one international member and one honorary member. Two committees judge three categories each.
