GALIEN MEDSTARTUP AWARDS | 28 Oct, 2021

The Prix Galien Medstartup fosters transatlantic, private-public sector collaborations and promotes innovative research partnerships among major integrated pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and medical device manufacturers, including e-health vendors.

This unique initiative, which takes place in the same venue and at the same time as the Galien Forum, was built on several years of cooperation between the Galien Foundation and Business France with three core goals:

Strengthen commercial partnerships that bridge the traditional silos between government, industry and academia; Support large groups in their transformation ; Promote cross-border trade, jobs, and economic growth.

Companies can submit their application in 3 categories:

  • Biotech/Pharma
  • Medtech/Digital Health
  • Underserved Populations

To be eligible for the Prix Galien Medstartup,  3 main criteria must be met:

  1. Have an innovative product in line with the American market
  2. Generate a revenue over € 500K, otherwise have raised funds in seed, series A or more
  3. Present a collaboration with a North American partner: academic, hospital, investor or industrial.

Companies have until May 31st  to submit their application in one of the 3 categories to Business France team.

BEST COLLABORATION IN THE BIOPHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY

“TreeFrog Therapeutics collaborated with The Harvard’s Stem Cell Institute, Dana Farber’s Cancer Institute and the Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation at Kobe, Japan (FBRI),  to study the quality of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) grown with the 3D C-Stem technology.”

BEST COLLABORATION IN THE MEDTECH OR DIGITAL HEALTH SECTOR

“Wandercraft collaborated with the the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab to develop the Personal Mobility Exoskeleton : the first self-balanced Exoskeleton on the market“

 

BEST COLLABORATION DEDICATED TO UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS

“E-scopics collaborated with North Carolina State University to bring together a dematerialized the ultrasound system with a specific biomarker to lung damages in order to detect lung disease severity”
